I requested and received a copy of this letter from the attorney general today. The AG has correctly recognized that the request from MCPSS is moot, given that Saraland has operated a city system for some time and that Satsuma and Chickasaw passed separation resolutions some time ago. You'll soon notice a new Chickasaw police car making the rounds in the Chickasaw Housing Authority.  The Authority took delivery of a brand new, redesigned Dodge Charger.  It has to be outfitted for We voted this evening to grant an offsite consumption beer and wine license to Dollar General. The good news is that we were able to ensure that Chickasaw is "grandfathered in" under the legislation.  The bad news is that other cities of our size will likely not be permitted to begin their own school systems in the years ahead.
